MORE ABOUT JOJO WoRKIN'
JoJo Workin' became a 501c3 nonprofit organization in 2019 but had already been hard at work trying to help adults with substance abuse issues. Lori Smith also began raising money in earnest to support the battle against addiction.

The community rallied behind her efforts through various community events, such as Witches' Crawl, the Dragonboat Festival, and others. All monies donated to provide help to heroin and opioid addicts as a means for reintroduction into society after successful rehabilitation.

JoJo Workin's vision is to assist those who are recovering from substance abuse addiction with a structured introduction into society. Their mission is to provide a faith-based, safe environment for those in recovery as they confidently reestablish their self-reliance to successfully integrate into society.

We are currently an all-volunteer staff, but plan to grow into a paid staff. Our goal now is to create a sober living facility in Pamlico County. This facility will:
-
Provide a structured environment
-
Provide opportunities for responsibility
-
Self-help and counseling coordination
-
Spiritual growth
-
Career counseling and job search assistance
